Notes

Studio recording for 'Enema of the State' (1999). Tom DeLonge used his signature Stratocaster with a single Seymour Duncan Invader bridge humbucker, straight into a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier head and matching 4x12 cab. No pedal effects confirmed for the studio rhythm tone; distortion from amp. No evidence of additional pedals or effects in the riff section. Settings estimated based on era, genre, and amp model.

Difficulty

The riff requires fast, consistent downstrokes and tight palm muting at a brisk tempo, but uses straightforward power chords and rhythm patterns typical of pop punk.
