Notes
Studio recording, 1993, In Utero sessions. Clean sections were tracked with the Mustang into a Fender Bassman for a bright, jangly tone. No evidence of live gear or alternate guitars for the clean riff. Chorus effect is clearly audible and confirmed by sources.
Tone Character(10)

Difficulty
The riff is technically simple but requires alternate tuning and precise, even strumming to achieve the signature clean, modulated sound. The main challenge is maintaining clarity and dynamic control with the chorus effect.
