Notes

Studio recording, 1963. John Lennon played the main rhythm riff on his ES-175D through a Vox AC30. No pedals or external effects were used; all tone was from guitar and amp. This is based on historical documentation and isolated track analysis. Live performances sometimes used a Rickenbacker 325, but the studio version is confirmed as the ES-175D.

Difficulty

The riff requires fast, consistent triplet strumming with tight rhythmic accuracy and clean chord transitions, making it challenging for intermediate players.
