Effects & Signal Chain

Notes

Studio recording, 1979. David Gilmour used his black Stratocaster into a Hiwatt DR103 with WEM cab. Effects from Pete Cornish 'Wall Board' pedalboard. Yamaha RA-200 rotary amp may have been blended for modulation/ambience, but not the main solo amp. Settings estimated from era and typical Gilmour rig; no direct numeric settings found for Pt. 1 solo.

Difficulty

The solo requires expressive phrasing, precise bending, and dynamic control to achieve Gilmour's signature sustain and smoothness, but does not involve fast runs or advanced technical passages.
