Effects & Signal Chain

Notes

Studio recording, 1972-1973, The Dark Side of the Moon sessions. Gilmour used his black Stratocaster with single-coil pickups into a Hiwatt DR103 head and WEM cab. Effects were mostly pedals, not amp-based. No evidence of live rig or later tour gear for this recording.

Difficulty

The riff requires tight timing to sync with the delay repeats, careful modulation pedal control, and dynamic picking for the right touch and sustain. While not technically advanced, it demands attention to effects and rhythmic precision.
