Studio recording, 1969. John Fogerty used a modified Gibson Les Paul Custom for E Standard tuning after retiring his Rickenbacker. The Kustom K200A-4 amp was used for the classic CCR sound. No evidence of pedals or outboard effects for the riff section; amp effects only. Confirmed by multiple interviews and gear rundowns.
