Notes

Studio recording, 1969. John Fogerty used a late 1950s Gibson Les Paul Goldtop with P-90 pickups into a Fender Silverface Vibrolux Reverb amp. No evidence of pedals or additional effects for the riff section. All evidence points to a direct guitar-to-amp setup for the main riff.

Difficulty

The riff is based on open chords with a fast, driving rhythm and syncopated strumming, requiring good timing but no advanced techniques.
