Studio recording, 1994. Both Dexter and Noodles used Ibanez RG guitars with DiMarzio humbuckers into Mesa Boogie Mark IV amps for the Smash album. Distortion is from the amp's lead channel. Tube Screamer pedal possibly used for additional drive. No evidence of other pedals or effects in the riff section. Settings are for studio recording, not live.
