Effects & Signal Chain

Notes

Live performance, 1981 era. Randy Rhoads used his Les Paul Custom for the solo, with bridge pickup selected. Effects were from his pedalboard, not amp. Amp was a rented Marshall JMP Super Lead MKII, not a JCM800. EQ and distortion from pedals, not amp gain. No amp reverb or built-in effects.

Difficulty

The solo features fast, technical passages, wide vibrato, and advanced phrasing that require strong technique and precision, making it challenging even for advanced players.
