Notes

Studio recording, 1982-1983, 'Synchronicity' album sessions. Andy Summers' Telecaster was heavily modified but core tone is single-coil into a JC-120. No evidence of a different amp or guitar for the solo section; no evidence of a distortion pedal or high-gain amp setting for the solo. All sources and isolated tracks indicate the solo remains clean/modulated, not distorted.

Difficulty

The solo and main riff require precise picking, clean articulation, and control over modulation effects. The technical challenge is in the timing, muting, and maintaining clarity with multiple effects engaged.
