Notes

Studio recording, 1974-1975. Alex Lifeson used a Gibson ES-335 into a Marshall 50-watt head (likely JMP) with a single 4x12 cab, and a Fender Twin Reverb for some clean layering. Only effect confirmed is a Maestro Echoplex tape echo. No evidence of additional pedals or amp-based effects for the riff section.

Difficulty

The riff requires tight, syncopated rhythm playing with palm muting and dynamic picking, but does not involve advanced lead techniques or complex chord voicings.
