Notes

Studio recording, 2023 remaster. Ian Thornley is known to blend two amps for heavy rhythm tones; the PT100 is always on, Hedgehog 50 is used in overdrive with boost for dirty tones. Guitar is a Suhr Classic T with Thornbucker pickups, as confirmed in recent interviews and gear rundowns. Effects are primarily from pedals and Axe-FX II XL in the loop. Settings estimated based on artist interviews and typical usage for this genre and amp. No evidence of live-only gear for this recording.

Difficulty

The riff requires advanced rhythm technique, tight palm muting, and dynamic picking to achieve the aggressive, articulate sound. The use of complex syncopation and gain control adds to the challenge.
