Effects & Signal Chain

Notes

Studio recording, 1979. Angus Young's solo tone on 'Girls Got Rhythm' was achieved with his main Gibson SG into a cranked Marshall Super Lead Plexi, likely using the Schaffer-Vega Diversity System (SVDS) wireless as a preamp/boost. No effects pedals except the SVDS/Schaffer Replica in the studio signal chain. No reverb or delay used on the amp or via pedals. All evidence points to a pure guitar-cable-amp setup with the Schaffer preamp coloration. No chorus, flanger, or other modulation effects present.

Difficulty

The solo requires intermediate-level technique with fast pentatonic licks, expressive bends, and dynamic picking, but does not involve advanced shred or complex timing.
