Notes

Live performance, May 10, 1972, Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. Jerry Garcia's main guitar for the Europe '72 tour was the 'Alligator' Stratocaster, run into a Fender Showman head (Blackface), then into a McIntosh MC2300 power amp, driving JBL D120F speakers. No pedalboard effects confirmed for this era/solo; Garcia's rig was very minimal in spring 1972.

Difficulty

The solo requires intermediate phrasing, dynamic control, and melodic improvisation typical of Garcia's style, but does not involve advanced technical demands or high-speed passages.
