Notes

Studio recording, 2003 debut album session. Henry Garza used his main Stratocaster and ran into both a Fender Twin Reverb and a Marshall JCM2000, but for the riff section the clean/edge-of-breakup tone is primarily from the Twin Reverb with TS9 boost. Effects are minimal and classic blues-rock. No evidence of chorus, delay, or modulation in the riff section. Wah and Leslie are not used in the riff, only in solos or other songs.

Difficulty

The riff requires intermediate skill due to its syncopated groove, dynamic picking, and the need for clean articulation with subtle overdrive, but does not involve advanced techniques or high speed.
