Notes

Studio recording, 1976. Joe Walsh played the iconic solo using a vintage Fender Telecaster into a Fender Black Panel Deluxe amp, with a Maestro Echoplex tape delay and an MXR Phase 90 phaser. The amp reverb was likely used. Don Felder played the harmony solo lines on a Gibson Les Paul Custom through a Mesa/Boogie Mark I, but the main solo lead is Walsh's Telecaster/Deluxe setup.

Difficulty

The solo requires advanced bending, vibrato, and phrasing, as well as tight synchronization for harmonized lines. The tone and sustain demand careful dynamic control and accurate technique.
