Notes

Studio recording, 2001 (Origin of Symmetry era). Matt Bellamy used the Gibson Les Paul DC Lite for most of the Origin of Symmetry sessions, with the Soldano Decatone for high-gain tones and the Marshall JCM2000 DSL100 for lower-gain tones. The riff in 'Hyper Music' is high-gain and aggressive, so Soldano Decatone is most likely. No evidence of live/touring gear or later custom Manson guitars for this specific recording.

Difficulty

The riff requires fast, tight alternate picking and palm muting under high-gain fuzz, demanding precise right-hand control and rhythmic accuracy to avoid muddiness.
