Notes

Studio recording, 1993-1994 (for 'In the Nightside Eclipse'). Samoth states in Guitar World interview he used a Kramer guitar, Peavey Bandit 112 amp, and Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion pedal for the album. No evidence of other pedals for the riff section. Ihsahn and Samoth both contributed guitars; this profile focuses on Samoth's rhythm/riff tone.

Difficulty

The riff section requires fast, accurate tremolo picking and complex chord voicings typical of early black metal, demanding tight rhythm and stamina at high tempos.
