Notes

Studio recording, 1990 (Facelift album). Jerry Cantrell is known to have used the G&L Rampage with a Seymour Duncan JB and a Bogner Fish preamp into Marshall power amps for the heavy rhythm tones on Facelift. No evidence of pedals for distortion; amp gain is primary. No chorus, delay, or modulation audible in the riff section. No evidence of live rig or alternate guitars for this part.

Difficulty

The riff requires solid palm muting and tight rhythm, with aggressive picking and syncopation typical of early Alice In Chains. While not technically advanced, it demands precision and stamina for the heavy, chugging rhythm.
