Effects & Signal Chain

Notes

Studio recording, 1978 (album released 1979). Angus Young tracked the solo with his Gibson SG Standard into a Marshall JMP 2203. The Schaffer-Vega Diversity System (replicated by SoloDallas Schaffer Replica Storm) was used as a wireless/boost/compression unit in the studio signal chain. No other effects pedals confirmed. Settings are for the studio recording, not live.

Difficulty

The solo requires fast, articulate pentatonic licks, aggressive bends and vibrato, and dynamic control to maintain clarity and sustain at high volume.
