Effects & Signal Chain

Notes

Studio recording, 1985. Warren DeMartini used his custom Charvel with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge into a Marshall JCM800. Some sources mention Furman PQ-3 preamp/EQ in the signal chain. No evidence of pedals for the main riff section. Effects like delay were used sparingly and mixed low, more prominent in solos than in the riff. Settings are estimated based on era, genre, and typical Marshall usage for this style.

Difficulty

The riff requires precise palm muting, fast alternate picking, and clean articulation at a medium-fast tempo, making it moderately challenging for intermediate players.
