Notes

Studio recording, 1978. Guitar plugged into Neve 8068 console with 31102 channel strips, but also through a Fender Deluxe Reverb for some tracks. Riff section is the iconic clean rhythm part. No evidence of pedals used on the original studio recording; compression and EQ applied via studio outboard gear.

Difficulty

The riff requires advanced funk strumming with tight muting, precise rhythmic accuracy, and clean three-string chord voicings, making it challenging for most players despite the lack of fast single-note runs.
