Notes

Studio recording for debut album (1988/1989, remastered 2009). John Squire is confirmed to have used a Gibson Les Paul Standard into a Marshall JCM800 for the main riff sections of 'Made of Stone'. Mesa/Boogie and Vox/Fender amps are associated with later live/reunion eras, not the original studio recording.

Difficulty

The riff is moderately challenging due to the need for tight timing with modulation effects and maintaining clarity in a crunchy, modulated tone, but does not require advanced lead techniques.
