Effects & Signal Chain

Notes

Studio recording, 1998. Eric Erlandson ran his Telecaster through a split signal chain: one side to a SansAmp and modular synths, the other to the Watkins Dominator amp. The Watkins Dominator provided the main riff tone with 'tons of low end.' No explicit mention of pedals for the riff section; most effects were achieved via the synth chain or amp. No evidence of live rig or alternate guitars for this section.

Difficulty

The riff requires tight, syncopated strumming and clean chord transitions, but does not involve advanced techniques or fast tempos, making it accessible to intermediate players.
