Notes

Studio recording, 1993. Billy Corgan played most guitar parts on Siamese Dream, including the Mayonaise solo. The solo section uses the Stratocaster bridge pickup, Op-Amp Big Muff, and phaser. Amp set clean/loud; all distortion from pedals. No evidence of live/touring rig or later signature Strat/DiMarzio pickups on this recording.

Difficulty

The solo requires intermediate technique due to the need for expressive bends, vibrato, and control of sustain and feedback with a high-gain fuzz tone, as well as managing the swirling phaser modulation for clarity.
