Notes

Studio recording for 'The Shape of Punk to Come' (1997-1998). Main distorted riff tones were achieved by blending a heavily modded Marshall JCM800 and a Diezel VH4. Guitarist Kristofer Steen used a Gibson ES-335. Effects were minimal; distortion primarily from amp and possibly a Boss BD-2 or Mad Professor Royal Blue Overdrive for boost. No evidence of time-based or modulation effects on the riff section.

Difficulty

The riff requires fast, precise alternate picking and tight palm muting at a high tempo, demanding strong rhythmic control and stamina typical of modern punk/hardcore.
