Notes

Studio recording, 2001-2002, for 'Turn On The Bright Lights'. Paul Banks used his black 1986 Les Paul Custom into a Fender Pro Reverb. Effects were mostly pedals, with amp reverb typically off or low. Delay and reverb were added via pedals or rack units, not amp. Pickup selector likely on neck or middle position for the riff. No evidence of amp drive, mostly clean/edge-of-breakup tone.

Difficulty

The riff is not technically demanding in terms of speed or advanced techniques, but requires precise timing, clean picking, and dynamic control to achieve the signature atmospheric sound with delay and reverb.
