Effects & Signal Chain

Notes

Studio recording, 1985 (Brothers in Arms sessions). Mark Knopfler used his red Schecter Strat with EMG pickups for the heavy riff tones on 'One World.' The Soldano SLO-100 was used for the album's heavier, more saturated tones. Effects chain based on 1985/86 confirmed pedalboard. No evidence of Les Paul or other guitars on this track's riff section.

Difficulty

The riff requires tight, fast picking and dynamic control to maintain clarity with heavy effects and a saturated tone. The interplay with modulation and compression adds to the technical challenge.
