Notes

Studio recording, 1972. Bernie Leadon played the main riff section on a B-Bender Telecaster with a neck humbucker mod, through a Fender Deluxe Reverb. No evidence of distortion pedals or heavy gain in the riff section. All sources and isolated tracks indicate a clean to edge-of-breakup tone, not a distorted/heavy sound. No evidence of live rig or alternate amp for the studio recording.

Difficulty

The riff requires clean hybrid picking, accurate bends (especially with the B-Bender), and dynamic control for a touch-sensitive, articulate country-rock sound. Not technically difficult, but requires finesse and timing.
