Notes

Studio recording, 1984. The Edge used his '73 Stratocaster with a DiMarzio FS-1 in the bridge, but for this song's riff section, he used the out-of-phase position (likely position 4: neck + middle). Amp was his main vintage Vox AC30, no evidence of Marshall or Fender amps on the original studio recording. Effects include Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man for delay. All evidence points to this being the classic studio setup, not live or modern digital rigs.

Difficulty

The riff requires intermediate skill due to the need for precise timing with the delay effect, consistent rhythmic strumming, and dynamic control to achieve the signature percussive sound.
