Notes

Studio recording for 'All Hope Is Gone' (2008). Rhythm tracks used the Rivera KR7 amp and Jim Root Telecaster prototypes with EMG pickups. No evidence of alternate guitars or amps for the riff section. Mick Thomson used a similar Rivera Knucklehead Tre for some parts, but the KR7 is primary for this song's riff. No evidence of additional pedals except for a Maxon OD as a boost, but this is more confirmed for solos. No time-based or modulation effects are audible or cited for the riff. Studio context.

Difficulty

The riff requires advanced palm muting, fast alternate picking, and precise timing to maintain the tight, aggressive feel characteristic of modern metal. The drop tuning and syncopated rhythms add to the technical challenge.
