Notes

Studio recording, 1991-1992. Clean intro/verse was famously recorded using a Zoom 9002 multi-effects processor clipped to Petrucci's belt, not a traditional amp. This was confirmed by multiple interviews and forum posts. Not the same as his live or distorted rig.

Difficulty

The clean riff requires accurate picking and muting to avoid string noise, especially with the chorus effect enhancing any mistakes. The arpeggiated patterns and string skipping add to the intermediate challenge.
