Notes

Studio recording, 1984. Wendy Melvoin played the clean intro and clean rhythm parts with a sealed Rickenbacker 330 fitted with G&L pickups into a Mesa/Boogie Mark I. The Boss CE-1 chorus pedal was used for the clean tone. This is distinct from Prince's solo/lead rig and guitars. Settings are estimated based on era, amp, and genre as no explicit numbers are given for the clean section.

Difficulty

The clean section requires accurate chord voicings, smooth transitions, and dynamic control to maintain clarity and shimmer, but does not involve advanced soloing or complex techniques.
