Notes

Studio recording, 1993 (In Utero sessions). Kurt Cobain used his modded Fender Jaguar with humbuckers and a Mesa/Boogie Studio .22 preamp for much of In Utero. The Polychorus pedal is confirmed for the riff section. No evidence of Small Clone or DS-1/DS-2 on this track's studio version. Live, a Tech 21 SansAmp was sometimes used, but not confirmed for the studio recording.

Difficulty

The riff requires handling high-gain noise and feedback, as well as timing and controlling the pronounced modulation sweeps, but does not involve advanced lead techniques or complex chord voicings.
