Live performance, 1993, MTV Live & Loud. Kurt Cobain used the 1993 Fender Custom Telecaster for most of the set, including 'Rape Me'. The SansAmp Classic was used as his primary amp/preamp for both clean and distorted tones, running direct or into a power amp and cab. No evidence of traditional guitar amp head/cab for the clean tone; SansAmp was the main tone shaper.
