Notes

Studio recording, 1992. Jerry Cantrell is known to use the G&L Rampage with a single Seymour Duncan JB humbucker for most of Dirt, but for solos and moodier passages (like Rooster solo), sources indicate he switches to neck pickup. Bogner Ecstasy was a primary amp for solos on Dirt. Mesa/Boogie and Soldano amps were also used in the era, but Bogner is most cited for lead tones.

Difficulty

The solo requires intermediate lead technique, expressive wah pedal use, and careful phrasing for sustain and articulation. While not extremely fast or technical, the feel and control are critical for authenticity.
