Notes

Studio recording, 1985-1986. Multiple sources and listening evidence indicate Billy Gibbons used a Rockman X100 for the solo, which was a common studio trick for ZZ Top in the mid-80s. Some forum speculation about Boss Katana and Big Muff, but no evidence these were used on the actual studio recording. No evidence of live rig for this solo.

Difficulty

The solo requires intermediate-level phrasing, expressive bends, and smooth legato, but does not demand advanced speed or complex techniques.
