Notes

Studio recording for 'Schism' (Lateralus, 2001). Adam Jones used a blend of Marshall Super Bass and Diezel VH-4 amps, with the Marshall as the primary rhythm amp. Pedalboard included Boss DD-3 Digital Delay, Boss BF-2 Flanger, Dunlop 535Q Wah, and Boss GE-7 EQ. Effects were used subtly for texture. Pickup selector likely on bridge for main riff. No evidence of chorus, phaser, or reverb pedals in the studio chain for this part.

Difficulty

The riff requires advanced rhythmic precision, palm muting, and the ability to play in shifting time signatures, making it challenging for most guitarists.
