Notes

Studio recording, 1993-1994 (Dookie sessions). Billie Joe Armstrong used his main Les Paul Junior with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge. The amp setup was a blend of two Marshall heads, both modded, with no evidence of pedals except for a possible EQ or light boost. No time-based or modulation effects are audible or cited for the riff section.

Difficulty

The riff requires tight palm muting and fast, accurate powerchord changes at a medium-fast tempo, but uses straightforward punk techniques without advanced lead work.
