Notes

Studio and live versions both use the Martin J-40 for 'Simple Man (Acoustic Version)'. The signal is run through a Fractal Audio Axe-Fx III using acoustic impulse responses, then DI'd to the board. No traditional amp is used for the acoustic riff section. Year of recording: 2003 (Leave a Whisper era), but live rigs updated to Axe-Fx III in 2022.

Difficulty

The riff section is beginner to easy level, using open chords and a simple strumming pattern, but requires attention to dynamics and clean chord transitions for a polished acoustic sound.
