Notes

Studio recording, 1997. Trevor Peres' rig for 'Solid State' is confirmed to be extremely simple: Strat with bridge humbucker, Pro Co RAT distortion pedal, JCM800. No evidence of additional pedals or effects for the riff section. Tone knob on guitar is reportedly rolled almost all the way down for signature darkness.

Difficulty

While the riff is not technically complex, it requires tight palm muting, precise rhythm, and a consistently aggressive pick attack to achieve the signature percussive death metal sound.
