Notes

Studio recording, 1966-1967. Jorma Kaukonen used the Guild Thunderbird through a Standel Super Imperial amp for the main riff/rhythm section of 'Somebody to Love'. This is distinct from the solo, which may have used different gear. No evidence of pedal use for the riff section; chorus effect is mentioned in one modern source but not confirmed for the original studio recording.

Difficulty

The riff requires tight, syncopated strumming and clean chord changes at a medium tempo, but does not involve advanced techniques or fast lead work.
