Studio recording, 2003-2004. Keane's guitarist Dominic Scott left before the album, but the riff was recorded with a Yamaha Pacifica 112 through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. No evidence of additional pedals or effects for the riff section. All sources confirm Keane's early sound was piano-driven, with minimal guitar, and the main riff is clean and subtle.
