Notes

Studio recording for 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason' (1987). Gilmour used his Red Strat with EMG SA pickups and SPC mid-boost. The main riff was famously recorded DI into a Gallien-Krueger 250ML solid-state amp, not his usual Hiwatt or Marshall setup. No evidence of live rig or Black Strat for this section.

Difficulty

The riff requires control over a high-gain, sustaining fuzz tone, managing feedback, and clear articulation of the main riff under heavy distortion. Not technically advanced in terms of speed or complex fingering, but challenging due to tone management and dynamics.
