Notes

Live performance, recorded March 1971 at Fillmore East. Duane Allman played slide on the riff using his 1958 Les Paul through a Marshall Plexi 50-watt head and two 4x12 Marshall cabs. No evidence of pedals or effects other than amp overdrive. No studio trickery; this is the live rig.

Difficulty

The riff requires advanced slide guitar technique, including accurate intonation, vibrato, and dynamic control, all at a medium-fast shuffle tempo with a powerful attack.
