Live performance, early 1990s (circa 1992-1993, Blues Alive era). Guitar is almost always the 'Greeny' Les Paul for the solo. Amp is the JTM45 reissue prototype through a 4x12 cab. Pedals include Marshall The Guv'nor for main solo gain, Ibanez Tube Screamer for boost, and Boss DD-2 or DD-3 Delay. Subtle chorus effect is sometimes present live, likely from a Roland SDD-320 Dimension D or Boss CE-2. Reverb is from amp or pedalboard. Pickup selector is neck for most of the solo, sometimes bridge for certain licks.

Difficulty

The solo requires advanced bending, vibrato, and phrasing control, as well as dynamic touch and sustain management. The technical demands of expressive blues phrasing, fast legato, and maintaining intonation at slow tempos make this a challenging solo for most players.
