Notes

Studio recording, 1989/1990. All sources agree on the Les Paul and JTM45 reissue head for the studio version. The Guv'nor pedal is the main source of overdrive for the solo. Pickup selector: bridge pickup for most of the solo, neck pickup for some melodic lines. Effects include delay and subtle chorus from a Roland Dimension D rack unit. No evidence of wah or flanger. Settings reflect studio recording, not live.

Difficulty

The solo demands advanced bending, vibrato, and phrasing control, as well as dynamic sensitivity and fast legato passages. The emotional expression and sustain require both technical skill and musicality.
