Notes

Studio recording, 1986 (album: Somewhere in Time, 2015 Remaster). Both Adrian Smith and Dave Murray used the Gallien-Krueger 250ML for this album. Adrian Smith is confirmed to have used the Ibanez RS315 for this era. No evidence of additional pedals for the riff section; synth guitar and MIDI pickup were used for other tracks but not confirmed for this riff.

Difficulty

The riff requires tight palm muting, precise alternate picking, and rhythm accuracy typical of 80s metal, but does not involve advanced lead techniques or extreme speed.
