Notes

Live performance, Hartford Civic Center, May 28, 1977. Jerry Garcia's main guitar for this era was the custom Irwin 'Wolf' with DiMarzio pickups. The amp was a Silverface Fender Twin Reverb with JBL speakers, a staple of Garcia's live clean tone in 1977. No evidence of drive pedals for the clean riff section. Effects are primarily amp reverb and possibly a light envelope filter for some licks, but not the main riff.

Difficulty

The riff requires intermediate skill due to its syncopated phrasing, dynamic control, and clean articulation, but does not involve advanced techniques or high speed.
