Notes

Studio recording, 1968. John Fogerty played the main riff on a Rickenbacker 325 through a Fender Tweed Deluxe amp. No evidence of pedals or outboard effects; all overdrive is from amp. Confirmed by Equipboard and Premier Guitar. No evidence of live/touring substitutions for the studio recording.

Difficulty

The riff is rhythmically driving and requires precise muting and timing, but uses simple fretting and picking patterns. The main challenge is maintaining the groove and percussive feel throughout.
