Studio recording, 1974 (Second Helping album). Gary Rossington tracked clean rhythm parts with a Gibson Les Paul Standard into a Peavey Mace 160W combo amp, using the amp's natural clean headroom. No pedals were used for the clean riff section; all effects are amp-based. Pickup selector set to neck or middle position for clean warmth. Settings are estimated based on period-correct interviews and typical Skynyrd clean tones.
